The aircraft flown by Flt. Lt. M. L. Thompson at IAT 83 at RAF Greenham Common won the Superkings Jet Aerobatics trophy. Tragically Flt. Lt. Thompson was killed when XP753 crashed into the sea off of the East Coast of England 26/8/83 while en-route to Teesside Airport
