Reforming with Phantoms FGR2 on the 31st December 1974 at RAF Coningsby

In 1982 a detachment of 29 Sqd was sent to Stanley Airport in the Falkland Islands, this was later renumbered 23 Sqd.

The Phantom were stood down 31st March 1987 and the sqd converted to Tornado's
